A warning on using your callsign as your username
Posted: 25 Mar 2026, 08:36
I have noticed that many members signing up to the forums use their callsign as their username. I want to warn against this, callsigns store a lot of personal information such as your address and legal name.
Callsigns in this forum are hidden to non-members to protect against your information being readily available online but your username is not hidden. Your username should be an anonymous identifier, and since your callsign is attached to it any time you make a comment or post other members can see that callsign.
This allows the forum to be viewable by non-members while still protecting our member's identity.
You are responsible for your online safety so if you read this post and want to change your username please follow this link:

If you believe you are unaffected by this ignore this post. Thank you
